Rating: This, G
Pairing: Bellamy/Chris Corner(IAMX)
Summary: College student Matt comes across the hedonistic and enigmatic Chris Corner. I'll be honest I don't know how to summarize this as it's a bit complicated.
Feedback: I'm a comment whore. Every time I read one, miniature fairies take handfuls of love from my heart and dispense them into yours.
Disclaimer: I think if I owned Muse, you would know about it. They're a bit famous so I doubt it'd be something easily hidden. Same thing goes for IAMX.
Warning: Absolutely nothing
Note: So this was originally intended to be a oneshot. Then a twoshot. Then after much deliberation, I realized I might as well turn it into a mini-series. My first slash with someone other than a Muse member as one of the main people. Many thanksies to
lalalive23 for being my soundboard and beta and my everything in general. Also, I'm so fucking happy
flavoroftea is back in my life. I've missed her. Thanks to her for some planning and sentimental stuff.

There are moments in life where people are faced with something so frighteningly perfect, so beautifully free of restriction and judgment that all they want is to claim it. Sometimes those moments involve other people, people who only answer to the call of hedonism and genius and will never be physically tamed. People so uncontrollable and volatile and walk the broken line of insanity so elegantly that it genuinely pains you to look away from them as they dance in the flames of their destruction.
What’s worse is when you don’t recognize these moments for what they are, when you completely ignore the strangeness of the time and place and the impossibility of the plot writing itself invisibly in the air around you. The most complex character will creep upon you in the most disarming way yet you never even realize it.
But one day you’ll become conscious of a deviation, as if you could sense the ice caps melting, the seismic shifts beneath your feet as they rebuild the world you know into something closer to perfect. You’ll sense the polar magnetism racing along the meridian of your conscience, flitting between dangerous North and lonely South. And that’ll be the day that everything changes and everything you know will never be good enough again.
Imagine taking a candle and lighting it aflame. Let it burn till there is nothing but a small pond of wax, and before it hardens into an igneous puddle, rebuild it into its once tall and relatively unmarred form. No matter how hard you try, you will never be able to flawlessly piece it back together before it’s too late.
Not everyone goes through this, and I can’t decide if they’re the lucky ones or not. To live so fleetingly on a higher, esoteric plane of bliss and then to descend back into a realm of day-to-day existence was unnerving, yet I would never trade those moments for anything. But why would I wish the devastation experienced afterwards on anyone else?

*sigh* such a gorgeous line, how do you do it?!
